“Back to the 90s, with the era’s coolest kid in Bangkok Tata Young”

As soon as I received the news, I called my girlfriends and our Friday night was set at the Vogue Lounge‘s 90s theme party. My inner goddess knows that Tata Young is gonna be there, but what I didn’t know was that we were gonna show up in matching outfits with plaids and ripped jeans… And there, I was sharing a fashion moment with the coolest girl from the 90s Bangkok…

“Blonde, pink, and colorful. It’s time to call Barbie.”

This hot summer day really puts me in the mood for bold, bright colors. Now that I am blonde, I am closer than ever to Barbie. So, I whip out one of my most favorite pink lipstick of all time – the M.A.C Candy Yum Yum, and this is the beginning of my Barbie fashion diary…

All White Outfit on 25th Birthday

“Life is about constantly learning and embracing new things, so I should strive to keep a part of my mind pure, as if it is a white piece of paper, ready to take notes and draw pictures on.”

This is my 25th birthday celebration. I feel that 25 is an age that is still young, but not that young anymore. For some Asian cultures, it is considered getting old! The highly conservative ones believe that it is an appropriate age to get married and have children. I want to express that I am still young, yet acknowledge that I’m also aging and maturing. So, I invited all my friends to come dressed in white, to reflect on our eternal innocence regardless of our age. I want to be reminded that life is about constantly learning and embracing new things, so I should strive to keep a part of my mind pure, as if it is a white piece of paper, ready to take notes and draw pictures on. I treasure my life experiences, but I believe that imposing what I already know, walking around the world with my mind like a piece of paper full of notes is simply unfair for the new things that I will encounter.

“If you wish to travel far and fast, travel light. Take off all your envies, jealousies, unforgiveness, selfishness and fears.” – Cesare Pavese

In the mood for Light & Airy

I am back in the heat of Bangkok. All I want to do under this hot current is to stay as cool as possible. I dive in my closet and get back to the basics. I reach for the plain, comfortable, yet elegant sleeveless top from the Uniqlo Airism series from the Hana Tajima collection to satisfy the occasion. Functional elegance is the keyword. The fabric is light and breathable, and I feel so fresh.

Another urban chic look from the Hong Kong trip.

Karin Karas takes us to the renowned Shelley Street in Central, Hong Kong. I opt for solid color items with audacious colors like blue and orange. I could not wait to wear my favorite blue summer dress, so here it is, paired with the creamy Tencel Wrap long-sleeve tunic from Hana Tajima 2017 Spring/Summer collection for Uniqlo. There are so many ways to wear this tunic…

Earth Tone Minimalism in Hong Kong

By on May 5, 2017

“Once you are high up, go on with the wind and the beautiful mighty birds, but never forget your roots and the humble worms that surround.”

Down-to-earth and flying high

There is an endless sea of skyscrapers in Hong Kong, because space is such a scarce resource. They are no doubt the essence of Hong Kong, therefore, a sight worth capturing. Today fashion photographer Karin Karas takes us high up to a rooftop in Kennedy Town, an area that is currently being graced by Hong Kong’s urban expansion.

I carry the earthly vibe in 4 shades of solid brown in my outfit up to the rooftop that overlook pastel buildings.
