“Life is about constantly learning and embracing new things, so I should strive to keep a part of my mind pure, as if it is a white piece of paper, ready to take notes and draw pictures on.”
This is my 25th birthday celebration. I feel that 25 is an age that is still young, but not that young anymore. For some Asian cultures, it is considered getting old! The highly conservative ones believe that it is an appropriate age to get married and have children. I want to express that I am still young, yet acknowledge that I’m also aging and maturing. So, I invited all my friends to come dressed in white, to reflect on our eternal innocence regardless of our age. I want to be reminded that life is about constantly learning and embracing new things, so I should strive to keep a part of my mind pure, as if it is a white piece of paper, ready to take notes and draw pictures on. I treasure my life experiences, but I believe that imposing what I already know, walking around the world with my mind like a piece of paper full of notes is simply unfair for the new things that I will encounter.
Tonight, I am surrounded by my childhood friends, that I’ve known since 11 years old. There is also a friend from high school in the U.S., Darla, who randomly chose to visit Bangkok during my birthday weekend. I am so excited to see her! Besides, there is my sister and 2 of her friends that I recently become close to because they started to contribute greatly to my blog. Guys, recent photos from Bangkok on my blog, including pictures from tonight are taken by this artistic wonder girl Ployphun, with the assistance of this multi-talent, adorable and funny guy Wilhelm. I am so grateful to have met them!
We went to a fairly new bar and restaurant in Bangkok called Snail Bar. The architecture and interior is white and modern, and really accommodated our all-white dress code so well.
I want to keep it simple tonight. I just put on plain white tube top and legging pants. Then, I add some accents with one oversize silver hoop earring, one long earring with a pearl stud, and stacked rings. I did not want to choose one or the other earring, so I just wear them both! I still want to feel dressy, so I simply put on my chunky sandals. I appreciate how their light tan color balance off the all-white theme.
Laughing with old friends is its own kind of fun. Thank you for making me feel so loved and lucky. I’m loving you back!
Leave some comments below! I wanna hear what you think about the look!
